The Rest of the Story...

We got prime seating at the very front of the monorail heading to the Magic Kingdom.

We each got a "Monorail Co-Pilot" card afterwards. I am pretty pumped about it. From here we continued to the park for rides, rides, and more rides: Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain...

After a day in the heat, we headed to our car so we could get to our hotel and get ready for Amy's big night out. It is important to know that we put the windows down while we were waiting for the AC to kick in and one of them did not go back up for the duration of the trip.

Aaaaaahhhhh!

The next day, we hung out at the resort we were staying at. It was great to relax and enjoy our last day in Orlando.

After a day of sitting by the pool and renting out massive animal paddle boats, we decided to head to the outlet mall (despite the fact that we still hadn't gotten the window up and all of our belongings were in danger and that we could tell the weather was getting bad). After mostly window shopping, we happened upon the Coach Outlet. Once inside, we were so overwhelmed with the great deals and purses and bags that we hardly even noticed that a torrential down-pour had started. Once we came to our senses, we sprinted to the car, prepared for the worst...

Luckily, the rain was coming down hard at a slant from the right direction and the inside wasn't very wet at all, even though we clearly were (not only do I look soaked, but if you didn't know better, you would think I looked naked too! It's just another tube top :)

We had to wait the storm out. If we moved or drove, the rain would surely soak the inside of the car. So, we put the engineer to work.

Best friends from high school and we have not been all together in one place probably since Emily's wedding in 2005! I had a fabulous weekend with my favorite girls, catching up, remembering the "good ole days", and having new adventures to talk about the next time we get together.

There are more pictures to come: Disney Fun, Amy the Bachelorette, a larger than life Rubber Ducky, and a rain storm...there is never a dull moment when we get together!

It may not be Fantasy Island, but it is an island. Thanks to a few hours of help from my parents on Sunday, I now have my own private island. I know everyone is jealous of the cardboard top. Cardboard is the new granite!Tomorrow night I will finish the wiring for the outlet and I am in the process of shopping for new countertops. Erica, say goodbye to the cardboard...hopefully it won't be around much longer :)This extra room will allow me to really hone my PB&J making skills!

Just Checking In

Chris was in KC this past weekend and is looking forward to this weekend - he is installing his kitchen island. I took my second accounting exam this week and am looking forward to Girls Weekend in Orlando.

I have started to work with a travel agent to pick a resort for the wedding AND have been putting together and perfecting our wedding webpage. Chris and I wrote the bulk of it over the weekend and are hoping to unveil it SOON. I keep making changes, or "pimping it out" as Chris likes to say, adding widgets and pictures, and Chris just shakes his head (mostly because he has to go in and fix the HTML I can't figure out). Can't wait to show you all!

Speech! Speech! Speech!

#1 Top Chef Fan

Let me get right to the point...I am SO lazy! "I" = Chris, by the way. The main reason that I have been so lazy and unproductive the last few days is my new favorite TV show - Top Chef. It has been my favorite show since Sunday! WOW!!! Erica and I spent quite a bit of the day Sunday watching episodes from late in season 2. In other words I have even managed to make Erica unproductive. Let's just say that the amount of accounting accomplished over the weekend was in the red. Season 3 starts tonight and I've been getting primed. I recorded a season 2 marathon today, that I am in the process of watching, and I watched a bunch of season 1 over the last couple of days. Basically, I am just trying to size up the competition because my culinary skills are going to take the world by storm! I make a mean PB&J :)

Am I an anti-bride?

I have more on my to-do list this weekend than mastering the equation ASSETS=LIABILITY+OWNER EQUITY. Wedding stuff is also at the top of my list. I thought we could get some of the more simple details out of the way early. So, over coffee this morning (no spills!) we started looking at wedding colors and invitation styles, RSVP postcards, save the date magnets, and the logistics of a destination wedding and a Colorado reception, and a Wisconsin reception. In a very short time, we had both decided that we were done talking about our wedding plans for the weekend! Everything seems so complicated and there are so many decisions to make.

The last two times Erica has visited, she spilled coffee on my keyboard, mouse, and carpet. I got her a new coffee cup. Much thanks to my friends with kids.

Chris, we have some accounting to do this weekend!

It is a long story. I didn't plan on doing this, but I met with my grad school advisor on Tuesday and in order to finish ASAP, I needed to get an accounting prereq out of the way before this fall. Classes at virtually every community college started on Monday, so I registered (luckily, under the wire - we are talking only getting in by a few hours), enrolled, and paid for my Accounting I course. I bought my books, got my horrid student ID and navigated my way around the large Johnson County Community College campus to my classroom with no problems.

Tonight was my first night of class, but I really missed the first class which was on Tuesday. I have a bunch of homework and a test next class time already, so I am feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment. I better get used to it, this is nothing compared to the course load I will have for the next 2 years (full time school + full time work = full time no fun). The really very good news is my projected class schedule has me done at the end of the Spring 2009 semester and in CO with Chris after that. So, it will be ALL worth it! :)
