Snow on the Way in SLC
The mountains have been snow capped for a couple weeks now, but the first real snow for the valley is coming today. In light of this, I put a snow conditions widget on the blog in anticipation of ski season!

Clubbin' in SLC
Erica and I officially joined the SLC club scene this weekend. Pictured are our club badges of honor. We met our friends Julie and Keith at Sandbar for drinks.
We didn't witness it, but apparently some heavy women dancing on the dance floor had a wardrobe malfunction when her ta-tas popped out of her top. We did lots of people watching and the crowd seemed to consist of frat boys, twenty-one year old co-eds, and cougars. It was amazing! Sandbar rocks!

Celebrate Domestic Violence!
This sign is very near where I work, just outside the Sandy Police Dept. Are they creating job security by promoting domestic violence this month? It should say "Domestic Violence Awareness Month".

Pumpkin Artist
Erica was kind enough to help my parents with the design of their pumpkin for this years neighborhood pumpkin carving contest. We also need to thank Kelly for finding a lot of great designs to choose from. Thanks ladies! Good luck mom and dad!

Volunteer Work at Caribou Ranch Open Space
This past Wednesday I got to take time away from the office so I could help a group of co-workers do volunteer work at the Caribou Ranch Open Space just outside of Nederland, CO. The area we worked on had been damaged long ago by mining operations. More recently it had been used as dumping grounds for debris from trail work and general maintenance of the area. We spent most of the day separating sticks and logs from the debris piles so the top soil could be reclaimed. The wood was piled into 5 10'X10'X10' piles to be burned later by the local fire department. The reclaimed topsoil was spread around so that seeds collected by other volunteers could be planted later this fall or next spring. Hopefully in a couple years the area will be a beautiful field of local plants and flowers. It was nice to be outside, get away from the office, and get a great workout. I was sore for a couple days after, but it was worth it.

Mini Peru reunion in Salt Lake City
Dr's Winkler and Waxman are in town for a colposcopy clinic. Tonight they took me to dinner. We met in Peru while we were working for CerviCusco. We ate at a brand new restaurant, Forage. It was wonderful.

Visitors
Erica got into Denver at 7:30 last night. We headed straight from the airport to the hospital to see Kim and Dick. It was really nice to see them both. Dick looks really good and has a great attitude toward recovery.
We also saw Dave and Char very briefly when we first arrived. They look exactly the same as the last time I saw them about 11 years ago.
We stayed for about 2 hours - we were all getting sleepy by the end and it was time to go. We look forward to seeing them again in a couple weeks along with Grandma and Mom.
