Shooter
We watched the movie Shooter last night. It was recommended by Uncle Jeff and Andy. We both thought it was really good. It was nonstop from the minute it started. Probably one of the better action movies we have seen in a long time. We give it 2 thumbs up. Chris is giving it 4 stars on NetFlix even!
We All Scream for Ice Cream!
What does 2 cans sweetened condensed milk, 2 cups water, and 4 cups fat free half and half make? ICE CREAM! When Chris left Roanoke, he got an electric ice cream maker as a going away gift. We used it for the first time last night. It turned out really really well.
We love ice cream. We are pretty ridiculous about it. I don't think there has been a single weekend together that we haven't had it. Right now, we are having ice cream and coffee for breakfast!
We are on the hunt for simple and good ice cream recipes, if you know of any, pass them on!

Getting Culturized
Yesterday we went to the Renaissance Festival with my friend Amanda and her boyfriend Scott. Chris and I have never been to a Ren Fest before. This one was just like a medieval village with actors going about their business just like they would have back then.

Later that night it was such a beautiful evening that we walked to the Plaza Art Fair. I actually knew one of the exhibitors, Ann Cianciolo from Milwaukee. I went to college with her sister Christa. You can check out Ann's jewelery here.

A Day Later, Just Jumping to Conclusions
I am doing much better. I am still a little feverish which can be accounted for by the fact that I have an extremely enlarged and protruding gland along my jaw line that is also very tender. Something is going on, I just don't know exactly what. I hope it squares itself away soon.
Alright, off to bed. I was preparing for a presentation tomorrow and didn't realize how late it was. Wish me luck! Love, eak

It pays to be nice 0:-)
I [Chris] was waiting in line at the register at Kohl's this afternoon. I was there buying picture frames because they were 50% off, plus I was going to get an additional 15% off for using my Kohl's credit card. I was next. An old lady, who was clearly not playing with a full deck, walked up to the girl at the register and started rambling about canceling her Kohl's credit card and getting a new one because she had lost her wallet. The girl at the register finished with the people in front of me and I told her she could take care of the old lady before I checked out (I figured it wouldn't take long because I assumed there was nothing the girl at the register could do.) The girl at the register told the old lady to go to customer service. The old lady said she had already been to customer service. While the girl at the register was on the phone with the customer service desk the old lady proceeded to whip out her passport as proof of identification and announce that she knew her SSN. Turns out you can only cancel your card by calling the 1-800 number. The girl at the register sent the old lady back to the customer service desk to use their phone to call and cancel her card.
Moral of the story: Be nice. Wait an extra 2-3 minutes. Get an extra 10% discount. The girl at the register gave me 25% instead of the 15% that was advertised.

Not Just Allergies
I have been suffering from allergies all week, but the glands in my neck have been getting large and tender over the past few days. I feel feverish today and all week I have felt like I just can't get enough sleep. I went to bed at 8:30 on Thursday night and was still exhausted in the morning. Are you thinking what I am thinking? I don't even want to type it, but it starts with an M. I had a really bad case of it in college. Maybe I am jumping to conclusions...I will keep you posted.

TGIF!
There is really nothing new besides that! I am very busy with school and work. Let's see, what else...it was cooler here this week, but my allergies have been atrocious. I don't remember the last time they have been this bad.
Neither of us are traveling this weekend, but I think we both have long To Do lists to keep us busy while we are apart. The majority of my time will be spent at the library.
Thats all I have for now! Erica :)

Countertops
I finally got my new countertops!!! I love 'em! They are made by CaesarStone. The color is Copper Abyss and they go perfectly with my walls, which is good because the wall color was chosen knowing that I would get these countertops. I also got a new undermount sink which is huge and will allow me to collect even more dirty dishes before I have to wash them :) There is still a little finish work to do because these countertops are not a thick as the old ones. Mom, are you ready to paint?

Chicago
This past weekend we both flew to Chicago to hang out with AGPERP and RAK-KAK. A great time was had by all. We took the Green Line into the city where we explored Millennium Park, walked along the lake front, window shopped on Michigan Ave, and enjoyed cocktails at the top of the Hancock Building.
