Timberline Campground
We spent the weekend at the Timberline Campground in Kenosha Pass. It was about an hour and 15 minutes away from the house. It rained and thunder stormed quite a bit - at least 3 hours each day in the afternoon/evening. We managed to stay pretty dry and warm, considering.
Our friends Kirk & Amy, and their Goldendoodle Max, joined us. We relaxed and unplugged (no cell service) and played a lot of Golf Toss in between the weather.

Bikers Oasis
We met Kirk & Amy in Hygiene, CO yesterday for a bike ride. Hygiene is an unincorporated town just outside of Boulder. It doesn't have much, but it has a Mary's Deli and it is awesome. They totally cater to bikers with lots of homemade snacks and food for pre, during, and post ride, bike tools free for use, and bike parking. It is a cute old timey place.
Erica loved the little old man singin and playin at the front of the store.
Outside, there was lots of bike parking and comfy seating in the shade.
After the ride and a pit stop at Mary's, we headed to Boulder Reservoir for Chris's work picnic. It was a full day and we were in bed early last night.

Even Shorter Now
2nd short cut. Chris says this is what it should have looked like last time. But, I needed training wheels. Thankful my stylist made me take the leap because I really love it. It had been 3 years with almost the same cut, and it was time for a change.
Highly recommend going short!

Tub & Tile
The caulk around our tub had seen better days. It was cracking and starting to discolor. So, Erica was going to remove it and re-caulk. Simple enough.
The caulk lined the top and bottom of this white tile "quarter round". As the caulk was removed, quite a bit of water started seeping out from under the tiles.
In this spot, the white tiles readily fell out of place as soon as a little caulk was removed. There was nasty grout/caulk and old water behind it and it was accompanied by a very musty smell.
We weren't sure if the quarter round was there for a specific reason, or was just decorative. Maybe it was covering up holes in the tile surround, or along the edge of the tub? But, with all the dampness, it had to come out and we would just deal with whatever we found.
Here is the tub now. The tub and surrounding tile are in perfect shape. We like it much better without the white tiles. It just looks cleaner. We are going to let it dry out a bit more before we caulk, it still smelled a bit musty this a.m.
Another quirky old house issue is in the books.

Abundance & Nova
These are the prints we purchased last weekend from Kevin Zuckerman.
Erica picked out Abundance. The colors are awesome. We don't typically like really floral subject matter, but this has just the right amount of abstraction in it that makes it modern and more our taste. It is hanging in our living room. It is so cool.
Chris chose Nova. This is the artists idea of what the progression of life looks like. You start out at the left, small as a dot and then move on to live this colorful and chaotic life that crescendos almost at the end. We haven't found a spot for this one yet.

Breckenridge Baskets
There were huge hanging baskets of flowers everywhere in Breckenridge. They lined the Main Street and were outside virtually every shop. Erica loved them.
Little Stinker
Her new thing is barking aggressively at other dogs. She sounds really mean and we couldn't take her out with us like we wanted to in Breckenridge which is a really dog friendly place. We are bummed out about it.

Back Home
We had a great trip. We rented a little apartment just a few blocks off Main Street and walked everywhere. It was pet friendly, so Zoey was able to come with us. The weather was really nice with low 70's and sun during the day and 40's at night.
On Friday, we watched the Firecracker 50, which is a 50 mile mountain bike race. Our friend Brian was racing and took third in his division.
Yesterday, we went to the Breckenridge July Art Festival. We picked up a couple prints from Kevin Zuckerman. We also checked out a cute shop - Marigold's Farmhouse Funk and Junk and tasted vodka, bourbon, and bitters at Breckenridge Distillery.
