Happy for Helmets

Chris was video taping me on his phone yesterday (he was so cute) - he got a couple different videos, but this one is short and sweet. You can see some turns and then BOOM! I fell flat on my back with some head vs. mountain action. I feel like I have whiplash today.

Pooped Out

Chris is catching some zzzz's after a hard day of boarding. We split up in the afternoon - I was getting tired, especially after taking a number of spills and called it an early day. Chris found some awesome runs on a far lift and made the most of it.

While not taken from the exactly the same position, they were both snapped at Ensign Peak facing south over SLC. After days and days of breathing the worst air in the nation, storms are moving in this week for some much needed relief.

Bike Sharing Comes to Denver

I am very excited about this.  The B-cycle program is already in Louisville, KY and I am glad it is expanding.

Antelope Island State Park

Antelope Island State Park is the largest island in the Great Salt Lake. It was extremely foggy and frosty on the island today. We didn't see the lake at all, even though it was surrounding us.

There were Bison on the island.

The GPS is a little deceiving.  We were driving on the Causeway across the Salt Lake to Antelope Island State Park.

Anniversary Dinner at the Viking Yurt

We ate at 8,000 feet last night at a Viking Yurt at the top of the Canyons Resort in Park City, UT.

The snow cat pulled us 1,000 vertical feet up the mountain. The ride lasted 25 minutes and it was COLD.

The snow cat dropped us off at the Red Pine Lodge where we got geared up for some snowshoeing.

We snowshoed the rest of the way to the Yurt.

Once inside, we warmed up with Glogg and a fancy 4 course meal. The lights inside were a mix of solar and electric.

The ride back to the bottom was awesome - the sky was clear and the stars were super bright. You could see the Milky Way. It was a perfect night.

Driving home through Little Cottonwood Canyon

It was a good day. Chris got in lots of runs all over the resort while I had my lesson. After we had our snacks, we went back to the bunny hill. By the end of the day, I got off the lift without falling. I think I need another lesson - maybe a private lesson to get turning.

We ran to the grocery store on the way home and are relaxing back at the apartment for the rest of the evening.

First Snowboarding of the Season

Today we are heading to Brighton. It was recommended by one of Chris's coworkers as a good place for boarding. Erica has a lesson at 10:15 this morning. Hoping to take pictures and have a positive full report when we get back this evening.

It's empty. The milk you see is bad. Not much has changed since grad school. The surprising thing is I have not been eating out. Living on toast and canned soup this week. Better find time to get some food before Chris gets here this weekend.
