We had a bunch of Wild Pansies pop up on both sides of our driveway this year. They sure are cute.

2 Weeks Post Vertigo
I still don't feel right and am working from home again this week. I was feeling good Sunday morning, the best I have felt yet, so we visited family and went to a concert at Red Rocks. This took everything out of me and I was bad off on Monday. Very exhausted, and I think this exacerbated all of my symptoms (feeling like my world is altered (that's the only way I know how to explain it - not dizzy, but feel drugged or drunk, in a fog), light sensitivity, tired eyes, off balance, etc).
I have been searching online and found this forum. Almost everyone has my exact symptoms and a lot of them started with a vertigo attack. The problem is, these people have felt bad for months & years! They have had all kinds of tests with no relief or cure. This cannot be possible.
In my reading, I have realized the first step to getting better is: Do Not Google Your Conditions. It is scary.
Some folks reported taking Sudafed helps. I took my first dose this morning. The pharmacist warned it might make me jittery or keep me up at night, but I honestly don't think that is possible, I'm just too tired.
I see a Chiropractor on Friday morning - I have had some neck pain, and your neck & back can cause these symptoms too. Or so I have read.

Look Who's Back
Chris took this picture tonight at dinner - we ate out :)
Before today, I have been out of the house 3 times in the past week and a half - the Urgent Care, the grocery store, and work (where my boss told me I looked like I'd been hit by a truck and sent me home).
Otherwise, I've been at home feeling and acting like a zombie. I've also been reading up on vertigo, doing these exercises, and blow drying my ears - they had water in them and that is what they think caused this whole thing.
Happy to report I'm feeling better and my dizziness is all but gone! My eyes are still sore and sensitive to light, my vision feels slow motion at times (queue the bionic man sound), I'm fatigued, and I feel clumsy and dull. That probably doesn't sound very awesome, but I feel like a million bucks in comparison.

The Return of the Painted Prairie
It's been over a year and our Painted Prairie has come along way from the little 4" pots that we planted.

Just a liiitle off the bottom
Our new microwave was back-ordered and delivered last week. In keeping with the "nothing's easy in this old house" theme, it took a little work to get it installed.
The distance between the backsplash and the bottom of the cabinet was short by a 1/4". The new bracket wouldn't fit.
A little shave.
Back together again.
Chris made it look easy at least.

BPPV
Apparently I have Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) . It started Wednesday night and I have been dizzy, unbalanced, and sometimes nauseous ever since.
I worked from home on Thursday & Friday. I was hoping it was just a bug that had me feeling "off" and it would pass after a couple days, but I woke up this morning feeling even worse. I hate doctors and pills, but it was time to bite the bullet. Plus, Chris had been worrying enough, poor guy.
I had a positive Dix-Hallpike test, was prescribed Dramamine, and am supposed to follow up with my PCP for "exercises" that help clear the particles out of my ear canals that are screwing everything up. There are lots of videos online that show you how to do these maneuvers at home, so I am going to do them on my own.
Let's hope this is short lived. I'm relieved I know what it is, and it isn't serious, but I'm also pretty pissed about the whole thing.

Softball is no joke!
I was pitching in Wednesday's game and took a batted ball to the upper thigh. Not feeling so hot the past couple days.
Working on some nice color. It is very tender - can't even touch it.

Softball Practice
Erica signed up for a work softball team. Games start this Wednesday, so we got out for a little practice tonight. We walked down the street to the park and shook the cobwebs off. Erica hasn't touched a bat or ball since middle school. It wasn't the prettiest.
