ZZ's No Good Very Bad Day

We had another episode of ruptured anal gland today.  We first noticed the abscessed gland last night at 11pm.  It ruptured this morning before we could get to the vet.  Another round of antibiotics and she will be good as new.

The vet isnt ready to call it a chronic problem yet and we haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary as a possible cause.  Poor Z.

Upgrade

Chris installed a new dining room chandelier this weekend.

Remember this beaut that came with the house?

It lasted about a month before Erica got her hands on it.  Spray paint is a miracle worker.

And the upgrade:

Nice, right?  It makes the old light look puny.  The pretty glass makes it fancy.  And, we got a really good deal.  We had West Elm Design Dollars that we earned when we bought our bed and living room tables this winter and a 20% off coupon.  It came in under $75 including shipping.  That's just over twice the price of the old chandelier transformation.

House: Year 4

We've been living in our little Tudor for 4 years!  We love our house & neighborhood.

We've been memorializing all of the work and updates on our house since the beginning.  Here are links to years onetwo, and three, if you are feeling nostalgic.

This year, the home improvements are even fewer and far between...

Weed or Wildflower?

I had a wildflower mix planted in my patio planters last summer and some of the flowers were perennials.  But it's already much larger than any other freshly sprouted plants in the garden so I'm just not sure it's not a weed.

What do you think?

Union Station

Last night we spent the evening at the new Union Station.  We had dinner at Stoic & Genuine - a seafood restaurant.  Then, we walked into the Union Station terminal for drinks and people watching.

Theres a walk up bar and lots of space to sit and relax.  Shuffleboard too.  There are shops and restaurants all around the perimeter of the terminal.  It's such a cool space.

We sat next to a fun couple at dinner who were staying at the on-site hotel, The Crawford.  They said it wasn't cheap, but they were celebrating a milestone birthday and splurged.  The hotel shuttle is a Tesla.  I would stay just for that!
