This afternoon we are going to the Blue Lagoon which is a 5,000 m2 geothermal lagoon in the middle of a lava field. The Euro-Asian and American tectonic plates meet here.
You can enjoy the water, geothermal steam bath, sauna, waterfall, and silica mud which lines the lagoon and is available in boxes around the lagoon for do-it-yourself skin treatments. A full medical spa is also on the premises.

This is a picture from the Blue Lagoon website. We have heard you can see the Northern Lights from the Blue Lagoon at night. Hoping we might be able to catch a glimpse of them if the conditions are right.
