Today is Libby's birthday, but we celebrated this past Wednesday evening. Christina, Libby, Abbey, Franzy, mom, and myself had dinner at Genghis Khan, Libby's favorite.

Erica's First Day of Grad School!
Insert "First Day of Grad School on a Paper Plate" picture here.
It was tradition to get a first day of school picture taken. Mom always wrote the grade and year on a paper plate and we held it in the picture. I believe there is even a first day of college picture out there somewhere...

Weekend Recap
Chris was in KC and we got a lot of things accomplished. The most exciting items on our "to-do" list included:
1. An eye exam for Erica. Her eyes keep getting worse, but she picked out really cute glasses.
2. School shopping. This was very anti-climactic: 20 notebooks for $2 and some scotch tape. No trapper keepers or cool pens :(
3. Watching The Bourne Identity & Bourne Supremacy in preparation for The Bourne Ultimatum
4. Chris installed closet doors in the spare bedroom :)
5. Yard Work
6. Almost getting into a fight with a stranger at the gas station who lit and was smoking a cigar while pumping gas at the pump next to us. No, we are not kidding, not even a little bit.

Lawn Faries
This evening I went to a Colorado Rapids game to watch some soccer. What a bunch of whiners!!! I guess it wasn't too bad. Only one guy got carted off in a stretcher and the guy that hit him really did come within a foot or two. The stadium is brand new. It was a beautiful night. Colorado won 3-0. Overall, it was a great night out with friends and family.

Orientation
Today I have grad school orientation. I had to take a day off work as this is an all day affair. After orientation there is an informal happy hour with alumni and current students. I am excited to meet some new people and really get this whole thing started. I guess things are already rolling, I have homework and I don't even have my first class until the 20th.

Denver Botanic Gardens
Erica wasn't the only one out with the girls this weekend. I went to the Denver Botanic Gardens with my mom and grandma. I don't think I had been there in 20 years. I know I appreciated it much more this time around.

KC Blues Golf Tournament
I wasn't as bad I thought after I relaxed and didn't try to kill the ball all of the time. It was really HOT out there though. It has been 100 here the past week. So, it got to be a long day. But, it was great to get out with the girls.
My team getting ready for Tee off.
