This is our new bistro set. We sit here and drink coffee in the morning, do sudoku and kakuro puzzles, eat lunch, watch the neighborhood, etc.
This is Erica's bike. Chris just put it back together this morning. We probably aren't going to be able to ride this weekend - next time for sure. It has been go, go, go the past few days.

Back in Denver for Food, Art, and more Food
Today we went into Denver and met Chris' sister Cori and friends Sarah and David for brunch at Highland's Garden Cafe. It was delicious!! We started with Grandmother's Cinnamon Rolls which were amazing. Chris had the breakfast burrito (his standard) and Erica had a chilled buffalo medallion entree salad. It was also delicious. I'm not sure how Chris feels about Erica eating buffalo as he is a CU Buff! For dessert we shared the homemade cheese cake with fresh fruit. We just couldn't resist!
All this yummy food gave us plenty of energy to walk downtown to the Downtown Denver Arts Festival. We spent a couple hours looking around at the beautiful art. Of course, all the stuff we liked was way out of our price range...that's art for you!!! Our favorite display was the functional piggy banks created by Jason Theel. Chris has a lot of spare change laying around looking for a home.
As everyone knows, looking at art makes you super hungry. And the best way to take care of those hunger pains is Mexican food. With that in mind we headed out to Benny's, a local favorite. We were joined by Cori, Wendy (a friend), and Pam and Jim (Chris and Cori's parents). Everything on the menu is delicious and you can't go wrong with margaritas by the liter. A fabulous end to another wonderful day in Colorado.

South Boulder Peak
For some reason Chris thought it would be a good idea to take Erica on a little hike up South Boulder Peak the day after she got into town. When we say little hike we mean 7.0 miles round trip, gaining 3000 feet to the summit!
Anyway, Erica spent a lot of time resting :) It was quite a shock coming from Kansas City and hiking up to 8550 feet. She became close friends with quite a few rocks and trees. She always managed to keep a smile on her face.

The weather was beautiful. The sun was out. The sky was clear. And the flowers were in full bloom. We made it to the top in one piece. What a wonderful day!

Today is National Taffy Day!

How do I know this? My hoops&yoyo desktop calendar/clock told me so. Hoops&yoyo are my very favorite Hallmark e-card characters.

Bye Bye Bianchi
Chris is back in Colorado by himself. But not for long! Last night we packed up my road bike:
And, I just stopped by the UPS Store to send it out to live with Chris. We are hoping to be able to go for a ride this weekend.
Speedy Delivery
I had an FTD box sitting on my front porch after work today. For a second I thought I got flowers, but when I opened it, I remembered that mom sent me ferns, sedum, and chicks & hens from WI (I didn't think they would be here until tomorrow). Thanks Mom! I am letting the ferns and sedum rehydrate and I went ahead and planted the chicks and hens already tonight. E

Graduation
Today we got up bright and early to attend the School of Allied Health Graduation Ceremony. Erica's students were recognized in the ceremony (they aren't quite graduated yet, they still have a few more months to go) and she was a faculty reader. That means she got to wear a cap and gown and read off the students names as the crossed the stage. Chris says she did a good job!

Save the Cookie
Did you know that AirTran is attempting a hostile take over of Midwest Airlines? I know I have been flying Frontier a lot lately, but Midwest is my very favorite airline. Please go to www.savethecookie.com and sign the petition to show your support of Midwest. AirTran stinks!

So Fresh and So Clean
We just started a 10-day Herbal Cleanse. This entails fiber drinks, probiotics, and herbal pills, lots of fruits and veggies, fruit juices, herbal teas, and water, little to no fats or fried and processed foods. It is going to be tough. We'll keep you posted.
