Last Surgery!!!
Had my last surgical procedure yesterday before I get my crown. This one is low on swelling, but is quite a bit more painful than I expected.

They uncovered my implant, put on a healing cover and placed some more bone grafting material (the grafting is where the pain is coming from).
I get color matched for my crown right after the New Year.

Birthday Excitement
We ate an amazing omakase meal at The Wolf’s Tailor in a private tent to celebrate Chris’s birthday.

The excitement came beforehand when Erica’s surgical site started spontaneously bleeding in mass quantities. We are talking mouthfuls of bright red hot blood. It took 30 minutes to get the bleeding to stop. And then it bled a little more. We were both looking pretty pale by the time it was over.
We decided to venture out to dinner to anyway. Erica packed a lot of gauze in her purse just in case and she didn’t need to use it. Whew.

Morning after Gum Grafting
I was under the knife again yesterday afternoon to have gums grafted. They took tissue from my palate and stitched it around the implant site. I haven’t looked inside my mouth yet. I am good on pain this morning and only the tiniest bit of swelling.

This will require 8 weeks of healing. My surgeon felt this will give me the best outcome and ensure healthy gums as I didn’t have a lot of gum to work with and they were thin.
They made a splent for me that protects the roof of my mouth and graft area. I am to expect the feeling of a major pizza burn on the roof of my mouth, so I am waiting for that.
