We can Park in the Garage Again!

Our Thursday cabinet pick up was delayed until today due to weather. Kitchen cabinets, 3 old doors, a bathroom faucet, under cabinet lights, buffet and old pantry cabinet were picked up, we made a goodwill drop, trip to Wal Mart, pet store for dog food, Benjamin Moore for paint swatches, and dropped off some packages at the UPS store. All before noon - we were feeling accomplished! And we can park in the garage again!

Demo is Done-zo

We put our granite countertops on a curb alert on Craigslist and a lady took them all. We threw in the sink.

Habitat for Humanity is coming on Thursday to pick up all of the kitchen cabinets.

Next steps: 1) get our electrician in to add can lighting, fix some wiring, and add some outlets. 2) get the drywall guy in to take a look at the surprise exposed brick and get it ready for tile. 3) put all of our demo debris in our bagster and schedule pick up. 4) finalize kitchen cabinet design.

Demo Day 2

Chris got the rest of the soffit down today. No more demo this weekend.

We thought we could donate our countertops to Habitat for Humanity, but they don’t accept them. So, on to busting them up and getting a small dumpster in here to get rid of all demo materials.

Demo Day

Ram Board went down on the floors, plastic over the doors, and Chris & Jim got quite a bit of demo in today. Only a few weirdo old house construction items had us scratching our heads. Can you see any of them in the pictures?

We’ve decided to go with Tharp Cabinets. We need to get some drywall/plaster work done prior to measuring. Then we are looking at 6-7 weeks for the cabinets to be made.

We have a table top microwave and our Keurig set up in the dining room. We’ve subscribed to Freshly which is a weekly meal service that delivers fresh, already prepared meals that you just microwave. We’ve had chicken tikka masala, steak peppercorn, and shepherds pie to name a few. It has all been good.
